Medusa in Greek Mythology

Medusa is a incredibly favorite tragic tale of Greece. It is a mythological tale. For a great number of feminists the story of Medusa is a incredibly painful one. The tale of Medusa is about a maid who was cursed to turn into a beast given that of the unfairness extended to her. Medusa was the daughter of Ceto and was the goddess of the oceans. She also had two extra sisters. Although a goddess, she was a mortal.

Medusa had the job of officiating sacred rituals for the gods and goddesses in Greek temples. Medusa was an extraordinarily stunning woman. Even so, since she served in the temple of the goddess Athena, she could in no way see Zeus. So, she asked Athena for permission to travel to the western hemisphere so she could see Zeus. For some reason Athena denied the permission. Becoming fairly angered by Athena's refusal Medusa blamed Athena for becoming jealous of her beauty and also that she had no reason not to allow her.

Athena was angered by Medusa's remarks and turned Medusa into a demon with her head full of serpents. Her hands had been turned into claws and she developed fangs. So medusa thereafter from a amazing maid became a venomous beast.

This is just one of the legends about how Medusa became a beast in Greek mythology. But, there are alot more legends and stories about Athena and Medusa and why Medusa was turned into a beast of the seas. Also, there are different variations about Medusa's looks and some people today thought she had a tusk on her face and looked like a giant. There are other stories which claim that Athena blamed Medusa's sister and cursed her.
